The Assistant Project Manager will help provide project management and administrative support on projects from front-end loading through final acceptance by the client. The person will help to maintain productive working relationships with customers, subcontractors, and co-workers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in assessing the scope of work and resources required to complete projects successfully
  • Participates in planning and formulating design alternatives and solutions; provide conceptual estimates, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
  • Oversees project budgets, job costing activities, and quality control provisions
  • Performs project cost estimating and value engineering, as appropriate
  • Participates in the management of the construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, specifications, and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, architect/engineer representatives, other contractors, etc.
  • Assists in managing purchase orders and change orders
  • Assists in managing changes to the work
  • Assists in managing project schedules
  • Assists in managing the shop drawing process
  • Participates in expediting the project delivery
  • Represent the company in project meetings as appropriate
  • Complies with all safety programs, policies, and procedures and insists on a safe work environment
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommended construction methods, and equipment as required.
  • Inspects completed project work ensuring compliance
  • Participates in the delivery of on-time accurate monthly project review reporting
  • Maintaining accurate job files and documentation
  • Analyze project results to determine “best practices “ and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Generate variance reports and participate in establishing and maintaining production standards.
  • Complies with all company procedures and processes
  • Coordinate all site inspections with the site subcontractors
  • Ensure that all inspection reports are accurate and that all attached documents are current status
  • Ensure all work is correctly prepared prior to any inspection being undertaken
  • Review all inspection reports for compliance
  • Assist with the organization, maintenance, and control of the quality system
  • Prepare non-conformance reports to the site supervisor and project manager and assist in developing corrective actions
  • Assist the site supervisor and construction manager in resolving any discrepancies and ambiguities
  • Coordinate with the customer’s QC inspectors for the resolution of site problems
  • Assist the site subcontractors in the resolution of drawing interpretation
  • Run QC meetings for the project at regular intervals
  • Review work procedures and method statements for compliance with good work practices and the customer’s contract specializations
  • The completion of QC site inspections and coordination of their closure
  • Compliance with the site’s health and safety regulations
  • Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors
  • Verify that the quality-related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
  • Participate in the site’s internal and external site audits
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed for as-built handover through the QC turnover engineer
  • Control all non-conformance reports and undertake remedial action
  • Complete site quality control instructions and action corrective responses
  • Review the customer’s specifications and undertake relevant training
  • Coordinate with the site supervisor and project manager on all quality issues
  • Coordinate and chair the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the project’s subcontractors’ QC personnel
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

  • Assist Estimators and Project Managers in the Estimating and Bid process

SKILLS:

A Superintendent must possess and have field experience with the following:

  • Supervisory experience in managing people, priorities, budgets, and projects.

DEFINITION: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

TASKS:

  • Installs electrical wiring, equipment, apparatus and fixtures using hand and power tools.
  • Maintains and repairs or replaces wiring, equipment and fixtures, using hand tools.
  • Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures consistent with specifications and local codes.
