DiSabatino has completed Phase 3 of the Flats Redevelopment. This phase included 78 units with 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms in two larger apartment buildings. This phase included abandoning a section of Springer street to include in the new block, and featured updated designs and color palettes for the units. Solar panels were added to the roof of one of the buildings to provide long term energy efficiency for the residents.
DiSabatino is serving as construction manager for Christiana Care’s building at the Avenue North campus. We are renovating this 380,000 square foot building in phases, with occupants moving in as we finish areas. The areas include many offices, open work spaces, conference rooms, cafes and kitchenettes, lobbies, and the executive suite for Christiana Care.
DiSabatino renovated the Gateway Conference Center in the Wilmington Hospital of the Christiana Care Health System.
This project included all new finishes, electrical and HVAC upgrades, and state of the art lighting, audio-visual, and videoconferencing systems.
DiSabatino has built the first “Hybrid” Operating Room in Delaware.
This Hybrid OR is much larger than a typical OR, and features several specialized robotic arms, imaging, HVAC, and electrical systems.
This project included 71 affordable rental units with 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms in six buildings in the Flats neighborhood of Wilmington. A total of 101,000 square feet of building space was constructed, in addition to parking lots, planter beds, new sidewalks, curbs, bus stop, and a new underground stormwater management system.
DiSabatino Construction has completed the second expansion of TD Bank’s corporate offices in the Hercules Building in Wilmington, DE. This phase of the project encompassed the renovation of over 24,000 square feet on 2 floors.
The project included demolition, new partitions, millwork, glass entry doors, ceilings, lights, power, telecommunication, paint, vinyl wall coverings, wall tile, window shades, appliances, HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, and fire alarm.
The space includes a mixture of open work areas, cubicles, offices, and several meeting and collaboration spaces.
Affordable Multifamily Construction
DiSabatino is proud to have completed Phase 1 of The Flats Redevelopment. This multifamily construction project included the complete remediation and demolition of two city blocks on the West Side of Wilmington, and the construction of 9 new buildings made up of 72 2-4 bedroom apartments as well as common and community space. New site utilities, parking, and amenities were part of the project as well.
This project won an Excellence Level award at the Associated Builders and Contractors Excellence in Construction Awards.
The Flats were originally constructed in the early 1900’s as affordable housing by the Woodlawn Trustees and the Todmorden Foundation.
DiSabatino Construction recently completed a major renovation of the main chapel at the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Newark, DE for the Little Sisters of the Poor. This project included all new finishes (flooring, paint, wall coverings, altar, pews, etc), electrical, HVAC, plumbing, audio/visual system, and a clerestory rising above the old roof and inviting bright natural light into the chapel.
DiSabatino has completed a major renovation and conversion of a Fairfield Inn & Suites in Paramus, NJ. This was a 114 guest room renovation combined with exterior renovations, common and lobby area renovations, and the addition of an elevator.
Freire is a charter school in Wilmington with a unique approach to teaching, learning, and college preparation. DiSabatino is proud to have been the contractor chosen to complete this exciting project.
